Let's Boogie!

Storytime Books:

Hilda Must Be Dancing
Written by Karma Wilson & Illustrated by Suzanne Watts

Summary:  Hilda Hippo tries other, quieter, activities when her jungle friends are disturbed by her dancing, but nothing else makes her happy until Water Buffalo suggests swimming and she finds a new way to express herself.

Our Storyboard today featured Hilda and her colorful swimsuits...
one for every day of the week!

On Sunday Hilda wore her red swimsuit, on Monday she wore her blue swimsuit.
On Tuesday-yellow, Wednesday-green, Thursday-purple, Friday-orange, and Saturday-pink.

It was Sunday again and Hilda wore her polka dot swimsuit!

                       Ten Naughty Little Monkeys
Written by Suzanne Williams & Illustrated by Suzanne Watts

Summary:  The littlest monkey gets its revenge in this version of the counting rhyme featuring monkeys engaged in a variety of playful activities, e.g., rolling, climbing, and hiking.

Storytime Songs:

Mambo I, I, I by Gloria Estefan on Sesame Street: Songs From The Street, Vol 5
and Sesame Street: Elmopalooza!  (Be sure to grab your scarfs, socks and maracas!)

Days Of The Week by Priscilla Kandel on Priscilla's Kids Songs

Flannel Board:

"Five Little Monkeys Sitting In A Tree"
Watch Miss Tracey's YouTube Video Here

Five little monkey sitting in a tree
Teasing Mr. Crocodile can't catch me
Along comes Mr. Crocodile quiet as can be
And snap snap snap
One monkey from the tree

Using the flannel board the children count as we place five monkeys
in the tree... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Then as the monkeys are removed from the tree we countdown... 5, 4, 3, 2. 1.

...this is a great exercise for little fingers!
